‘It’s most definitely over’ – Alan Shearer reacts after what he noticed in West Ham loss v Newcastle

‘It’s most definitely over’ – Alan Shearer reacts after what he noticed in West Ham loss v Newcastle west Ham United v Newcastle: Alan Shearer reacts after what he saw

Alan Shearer has shared his reaction after what he saw in the 4-3 West Ham defeat at the hands of Newcastle. The Hammers held a 3-1 lead but failed to hold on to it and ended up losing the game to Eddie Howe’s side on 30 March.

It was an incredible comeback from the Magpies but a disappointing capitulation by David Moyes’ side.

Shearer said on the post-match show on the world feed (30 March, 14:52): “Everyone thought it’s over but then Newcastle stepped up. They stayed in the game and won it. Magnificent turnaround from Newcastle.”

Unacceptable from West Ham and David Moyes

Moyes must confront the reality that his side’s defeat stems partially from tactical missteps and managerial decisions.

He made changes during the game, presumably with the intention of consolidating his side’s lead or seeing out the victory.

However, these alterations failed to yield the desired results, and instead, they may have contributed to destabilising the team’s rhythm and defensive solidity.

As the manager, Moyes bears responsibility for the outcome of the match.

While fans may direct their fury towards various aspects of the performance, including individual errors or missed opportunities, ultimately, Moyes must acknowledge his role in the defeat.

The frustration among supporters is understandable, as they expect more from a team that held a commanding lead.

David Moyes is facing an uncertain future at West Ham

Moyes must now reflect on his decisions, learn from this experience, and ensure that West Ham’s future performances are characterised by resilience and composure, even in the face of adversity.

In other West Ham news, Michael Owen has been left fuming amid a recent controversy in London involving the Hammers.
