Pundit details David Moyes agony at West Ham United after ‘worrying’ London Stadium development

Frank McAvennie admits the recent West Ham United injury blows are very “worrying” and could end up costing David Moyes in their domestic and European ambitions.
The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas (9 January) shared Jarrod Bowen is now expected to be out for at least a month after an injury suffered in the 1-1 draw against Bristol City (7 January) at the London Stadium.
Bowen, who scored his 14th goal in all competitions on Sunday, had to be assisted off the field by two members of the physio team, having injured his left ankle.

The Englishman now joins Michail Antonio who will be out for six weeks and Lucas Paqueta who also faces over a month on the sidelines (The Guardian, 9 January).
Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “Yeah, this is worrying, I’m very worried. To lose both Bowen and Paqueta in the same game really isn’t great for Moyes and I know he’ll be fuming right now.
“To lose two of your best players at the same time is bad luck and it could well cost them their ambitions this season so I really think it certainly forces Moyes’ hand in the transfer window because they’ve got to make moves now.”
Moyes will now be stuck between a rock and a hard place with this development at the London Stadium with now three of his most crucial and influential attackers now out of action.
Bowen is out for a month, and Paqueta and Antonio are now out for six weeks means Moyes is in a serious injury crisis at West Ham United and this can only mean one thing: David Sullivan must now let the cash fly to back Moyes this month with new signings.
Just who Moyes will rely on to replace those three players is incredibly uncertain right now because Paqueta and Bowen have been the only Irons’ standout performers alongside Mohammed Kudus who is away on AFCON duty with Ghana.
Danny Ings, Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Maxwel Cornet have all been on the periphery all campaign long and when given the opportunity, have all flattered to deceive which suggests they aren’t the solutions right now.
West Ham United have been superb all campaign long with their tremendous positioning in the table and their progress in the Europa League but this fresh news now leaves Moyes in a perilous situation and could really derail their ambitions.
