I’m delighted’ – Pundit View: West Ham complete ‘Perfect’ new signing West Ham United complete perfect transfer with Kalvin Phillips deal – Pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie has insisted that Kalvin Phillips will be “Perfect” for West Ham United after he sealed a loan move from Manchester City this month.
The former Hammers star admitted that he is delighted with the move to east London, hoping that he hits the ground running.
Phillips could make his full debut for the club in the Premier League clash against Bournemouth at the London Stadium on Thursday 1 February.
“I’m delighted, I’m delighted for him. I’ve wanted him to come for a while,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“I said he’d be perfect. You can’t keep playing Soucek because he hasn’t been playing well, so now Moyes has got an option. He’s got Kudus, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse.
“With Phillips as a holding player, he will just sweep and clear everything up.
“He’s not a bad player going forward either. He can get the ball and likes to pick a pass forward. I’m delighted that West Ham have got him, I hope he hits the ground running.”
Phillips has only started two games in all competitions for Manchester City this season, with Pep Guardiola sticking with Rodri for nearly every single clash.
In other news, the stance of another Premier League player who has been linked with the club has been revealed.
