West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen may miss out on a place in the England squad at Euro 2024 this summer.
That is according to Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson, despite the London Stadium attacker being a “manager’s dream.”
The winger has been called up by Gareth Southgate for the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium this month.
“Jarrod Bowen can play in three or four positions across the frontline,” Merson wrote for Sky Sports. “I like him, he’s a manager’s dream and gives you everything but he might just miss out on the Euros squad.
“He’s unlucky but Southgate has so many options. He’d have been sweating if Raheem Sterling was ripping it up. There’s going to be some disappointed players this summer.”

Three Lions boss Southgate undoubtedly has a long list of talented players to call upon, not just in attack, but in every area of the pitch.
He has plenty of big decisions to make ahead of his final squad selection for the major tournament this summer, but he would be foolish to omit Hammers ace Bowen.
The winger, who has proven he can also play as a striker due to the absence of the injured Michail Antonio in recent times, has been superb once again this season.
Bowen has chipped in with several crucial goals and assists, often winning matches for David Moyes on his own.
He certainly has a great chance of making the final England squad this summer, and will hopefully get the chance to impress against Brazil and Belgium at Wembley.
However, Southgate also has the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Gordon among others to call upon, in what is a simply ridiculous attacking lineup.
