‘I FEEL SORRY FOR HIM’: JAMIE O’HARA DEFENDS WHAT IS ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT TOTTENHAM STAR

Jamie O’Hara says he ‘feels sorry’ for Richarlison after the Tottenham Hotspur speedster was mocked all over social media for crying during Brazil’s 5-1 win over Bolivia.

Social media proceeded to share images of Richarlison, after he was substituted in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, crying whilst sitting on the bench, but O’Hara defended the ‘passion’ of the player.

It’s not the first time that Tottenham’s club-record transfer has reacted in such a way, with O’Hara adding that all Richarlison wants to do is perform well at club and international level, as he told talkSPORT.

Ever since the 26-year-old swapped the colours of Everton for Spurs last summer, it has been a real struggle for the player.

To this day, he still only has one Premier League goal to his name for the London club, whilst he watched Brazil crash out of the 2022 Qatar World Cup in a pretty disappointing fashion.

All in all, it seems as though the 45-cap Brazil star just needs some luck, with O’Hara defending what has been said about the player.

“I have to talk about Richarlison,” said O’Hara. “He has been all over Twitter and that. He got subbed during Brazil’s 5-1 victory against Bolivia. I think he missed a good chance and got taken off and he was in tears on the bench.

“I actually watched that. I said ‘I kind of feel sorry for him’. He is a player who is struggling for form. Struggling to find the back of the net. But his passion about his game. He wants to do well for Tottenham and he wants to do well for Brazil.

“You see a lot of players out there who don’t actually really give a monkeys how they play and they just pick up a pay cheque. He is on the bench crying because he can’t score.”

    Pressure mounting on Richarlison

It’s all good feeling sorry for the player, but that can’t mask over his poor performances because he has to start producing sooner rather than later.

Ange Postecoglou has already dropped him from Tottenham’s XI, with Son Heung-min playing down the middle and scoring a hat-trick against Burnley.

And now Brennan Johnson has entered the building. If Richarlison doesn’t pick up his form, ASAP, then that’s another player that will push ahead of him in Tottenham’s pecking order.
