‘He’s going to be’…Jermaine Jenas makes comparison between Totteham star players

‘He’s going to be’…Jermaine Jenas makes comparison between Totteham star players Jermaine Jenas has been picking his all-time Tottenham team from those he played with and the current squad and had some kind words for James Maddison.

Maddison has been a revelation for Tottenham since he signed in the summer. He was in superb form before he got injured and he has been widely lauded as making a huge difference at Spurs.

The former Leicester midfielder get goals and assists and is already proving to be a popular member of the squad.

Maddison arrived as part of the club’s plan to replace the goals lost by Harry Kane going. And before injury, he was making a good fist of it.

Jermaine Jenas has high praise for James Maddison

Jenas, of course, played with some fine players in his Spurs days. And when asked who he’d pick between Robbie Keane and Maddison, Jenas went for his former teammate but insisted ‘Madders’ will be a massive player for the club.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jenas even made a claim involving Kane when he discussed Maddison.

“Ouch, that’s very tough. I’m going to go Keano. All the songs are about Keano. And I think Maddison is going to be that. I think he’s going to be the biggest thing at the club since Harry Kane,” Jenas said.

Tottenham paid around £40m to sign Maddison and it’s already looking like a bargain signing.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has instantly got the England man playing some fine football and if it wasn’t for him being injured, there is a feeling Spurs might even have been top of the table.

The former Coventry man is due back in January and in a month where you can make new signings, he’ll feel like a brand new one.

Maddison is key for this Spurs side. Quite whether he’ll have the impact Jenas mentions here remains to be seen. But it’s a nice compliment nonetheless.
