Graham Potter has a tough task on his hands if he is to turn around West Ham United’s fortunes.
Potter has made it clear that he hopes to bring in some players this winter, after numerous West Ham players succumbed to injuries.
The need for new additions is now an urgent one
Without one or two top quality signings in the January window, Potter may well struggle to have much of a positive impact on the team.
Our squad wasn’t strong enough before the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug were all ruled out with long-term injuries.
Now we are incredibly light in the forward department.
With that in mind, Potter has just made what I see as a really ominous statement.

The new Hammers head coach faces some really tough games ahead. We play Fulham and Crystal Palace at home before heading to Aston Villa.
And something Potter has just said in his press conference filled me with fear with those fixtures lying in wait.
The West Ham boss highlighted how Danny Ings will be a key player for the Hammers over the next few weeks and months, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Every player is important and Danny’s played a role here for sure. He’ll step up. He had a big game against Aston Villa, coming in and playing as long as he did. So there’s lots of things to consider in terms of selection for Tuesday.“
I’m sorry but I really don’t like the sound of this.
Ings is nowhere near the standard required to be playing Premier League football.
He’ll undoubtedly be moved on in the summer when his contract is set to expire.
I would much prefer to see Graham Potter use Mohammed Kudus as a central striker, or even Lucas Paqueta as a false 9 than see Ings start up front for West Ham.
If the 49-year-old does place his faith in the 32-year-old,it could well be his undoing.
