Graham Potter cannot play it safe anymore – £22 million West Ham man must start vs Bournemouth. West Ham United face a crucial Premier League game against Bournemouth this afternoon.
Sure, there is nothing substantial left to play for this season for Graham Potter and his West Ham players. However, wins breed confidence, and finishing the season well will help West Ham begin the 2025/26 campaign in the best form possible.
The good news is that there is no more Mr. Nice Guy as Graham Potter laid into his underperforming West Ham flops during his press conference on Thursday. That’s exactly what the Hammers players needed to hear. If some of them are to remain at the London Stadium, then they had better pull their socks up sharpish.
Graham Potter must start Niclas Fullkrug for West Ham vs Bournemouth. Niclas Fullkrug has only just returned from a lengthy lay-off with a hamstring injury.
And the Hammers have clearly missed the big German throughout his absence. Niclas Fullkrug was West Ham’s best player against Wolves, and he only played 45 minutes!
Now he has to start. Potter must stop playing things too safe because let’s face it, the only way Fullkrug will get up to speed is by playing at least 60 minutes from the start. It has been an incredibly slow start to life in the Premier League for Fullkrug, but the next seven weeks or so could well be his time to show us all what he’s really capable of.
Potter can win over West Ham fans by starting Fullkrug
Fullkrug joined West Ham for around £22 million from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
That fee could rise to £27.5 million if he meets certain targets, through appearances, goals and assists.
Despite his struggles, Niclas Fullkrug could be a key player for West Ham.
The only things the Hammers fans ever expect from our players is a fighting spirit and 100% commitment to the cause. The big German has those attributes in spades, and now is his time to shinefor the Hammers.
