Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly the ones showing the most interest in taking concrete steps to sign one of Europe’s most prolific centre-forwards – Jonathan David.

Those of you who have been following Spurs Web’s coverage will be aware that we have seen a number of outlets talk up Tottenham’s interest in Lille striker Jonathan David over the last week.
The centre-forward, who has found the back of the net 17 times this season, will be a free agent next summer, and it has been revealed that Spurs have already spoken to the player about a free transfer to N17.
Some sources have even alleged over recent days that Tottenham have made an offer to sign the Canadian international ahead of the January window.

Calciomercato now have an update on David‘s future, explaining that he is ‘increasingly convinced’ of leaving Lille either in January or next summer.
The report states that the French club would prefer to keep hold of their talisman until the end of the season, even if it means they will be sacrificing a transfer fee by doing so.
Tottenham, Juventus and Inter Milan are said to have positioned themselves to sign the 24-year-old while Manchester United are also following his situation.
The outlet adds that Spurs are the ones who are ‘most intent on taking concrete steps’ to sign David, with Ange Postecoglou wanting to bring the centre-forward on board.
This might not be an easy deal for Tottenham to do
As things stand, it looks likely that David will leave Lille on a free transfer once his contract runs out next summer.
If that is the case, the striker will have a long queue of clubs after him and Tottenham might be able to match the wages that some other Premier League sides are willing to offer him.
Further, it would be difficult for the Lilywhites to attract the Canadian if they do not have Champions League football to offer.
