Four players are changing West Ham’s world
It’s been a very long time coming but it is no surprise that the arrival of a top technical director is making a huge difference to the way West Ham are perceived in the Premier League and across Europe.
We are talking about Edson Alvarez, Lucas Paqueta, Mohammad Kudus and Jarrod Bowen who together are slowly turning this into a club with real prospects and ambition.
These are top players upon whom very envious eyes are being turned on among other Premier League clubs, and who together can turn this club into something very big indeed, given time.
Bowen’s decision to sign for seven years was a landmark decision which must have impressed the likes of Kudus and Alvarez whilst Paqueta was unlike any player we have seen at the club in years.
Alvarez could hardly have been a better replacement for Rice, Bowen was a buy and a half at around £20 odd million, Paqueta was a sensational at £50 million although not always the most consistent and one wishes he would cut out the diving.
But for me, Kudus at £38 million, may just turn out to be the best of the lot and excites me as much as any Hammer I have seen over the years.
