Crystal Palace now identify 22-year-old Brazilian as potential Michael Olise replacement this summer
Crystal Palace’s hunt for the ideal Michael Olise replacement goes on. Now that search has brought them to Brazil, where they’ll compete with Chelsea to sign a 22-year-old.
Dougie Freedman will have a busy summer this year, with there likely to be a massive shift in personnel at Selhurst Park.
This comes from the fact Crystal Palace remain likely to lose Michael Olise and also possibly Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze plus several other players.
This will leave Freedman and Oliver Glasner needing to effectively rebuild the team, but with Olise going for around £60m, there will be a huge budget to improve with.
Multiple options have already been linked, and now there’s been another with Internacional’s Mauricio said to be an option.

The links to the 22-year-old Brazilian come from journalist Lucas Collar from the Brazilian outlet Vozes do Gigante.
The report states that Crystal Palace are interested in making a move for the talented winger who has scored and assisted in just two appearances this season so far.
For Palace though, the bad news is they aren’t the only Premier League club showing interest, with Chelsea and Spurs also keen.
But it’ll take a lot to tempt Inter into selling, as they remain keen to keep a-hold of him until the 2024 season ends as he is vital for them with 25 goals and 25 assists in his 165 games for the club as per Transfermarkt.
Being a right-sided attacker, Mauricio is clearly being eyed as a replacement for Olise should the highly rated Frenchman end up departing.
How much would Mauricio cost?
Being a 22-year-old talent, with interest from the Premier League, Palace are unlikely to be cut a deal on Mauricio that isn’t in favour of the Brazilian side.
He is also a Brazil U23 international which won’t lessen his price tag, neither will the fact he has three years remaining on his contract.
With a market value of just £6.8m though, Palace hopefully won’t need any bargains considering the fact there will likely be a budget supplemented by a big sale.
Therefore, this deal for now at least makes sense – although it’s hard to say he should be the top option with glamourous names like Matias Soule linked.
