Fans won’t believe who star is about to sign for after leaving West Ham

Fans won’t believe who Divin Mubama is about to sign for after leaving West Ham. Hammers fans won’t believe who Divin Mubama is about to sign for after leaving West Ham United as a free agent.

There were high hopes for Divin Mubama when he was elevated to West Ham’s first team under David Moyes. But after growing frustrated with a lack of proper chances beyond late cameos, Mubama rejected new contract offers – including a late final attempt to get him stay. That meant he left the club as a free agent at the end of June, a situation which has divided opinion among Hammers supporters.

Many feel Mubama was not up to the level required – yet at least – to play regularly for West Ham in the Premier League. Others feel he was never given a proper run of games to show his true talent.

The likes of Sunderland and Ipswich have been linked with Mubama since his West Ham departure. But there has now been a big development.

And fans won’t believe who Mubama is about to sign for after leaving West Ham. Fans won’t believe who Mubama is about to sign for. According to The Daily Mail, Mubama could be reunited with Said Benrahma by joining West Ham’s old Europa League foes Lyon.

Page 89 of Sunday’s paper says Lyon one of the leading clubs in talks to sign Mubama on a free transfer. This would be a very interesting development indeed.

And West Ham fans would undoubtedly keep a keen eye on how he gets on over in Ligue 1. Meanwhile the Hammers continue their hunt to sign a new striker after Mubama’s departure and the sale of Gianluca Scamacca last summer.

The prime target is Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

That’s rather ironic given Duran is in a similar situation at Villa to the one Mubama found himself in at West Ham. The 20-year-old Colombian has voiced his frustrations at a lack of game time.

There’s a big difference, though, as Villa are trying to command £31m for their wantaway forward. The top source at the club told Hammers News last week that West Ham will not pay Villa’s £35m asking price for Duran.

It seems there may be a breakthrough regarding West Ham’s interest in Duran if reports from Italy are to be believed.

Because it’s claimed Napoli made an approach for Duran only to be told he’s signing for West Ham.

On the face of it allowing an academy striker leave for free and then spending over £30m on another Premier League club’s young forward doesn’t make too much sense.

Anyone who has watched the two players, though, will see there’s a clear difference in ability levels. Duran is also a full Colombia international.

The move for Mubama comes as Lyon pick off another England youth international from Southampton Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez.
