Vladimir Coufal exit update at West Ham United amid Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer developments. Vladimir Coufal is not set for an “imminent” West Ham United exit ahead of the transfer deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported via his Daily Briefing column on Friday (9 August) that the Czech international is not expected to leave the London Stadium quickly at this moment in time.
Julen Lopetegui’s side are looking to bolster their options in the right of defence with the signing of Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who remains a transfer priority for the Irons this summer. Reports had suggested that Coufal is a target for Besiktas between now and the end of August, with the Turkish club also considering a move for Wolves star Nelson Semedo [Takvim, 8 August].

While the Hammers are quite obviously in the market for a new right-back this summer, that doesn’t mean that Tim Steidten and Lopetegui will be in any rush to sell Coufal between now and the end of the window.
Part of the reason that the Irons are keen to bolster their defensive options is the lack of depth currently available to the manager after Ben Johnson completed his summer move to Ipswich Town at the end of his contract. If West Ham were to sign Wan-Bissaka and then immediately sell Coufal, they would be handing themselves the same depth issue almost immediately and therefore would be creating another problem at the London Stadium.

Ultimately, Coufal will have a valuation on his head and should that be met, the Hammers will likely sanction his sale. But they won’t let him go for nothing and it will be down to Besiktas to pay the fee required. It will be interesting to see what happens between now and the end of the window as while nothing may be imminent, things can change at the drop of a hat at this stage of the summer.
