As quoted on The West Ham Way (17 July), the club insider stated that Nelson is keen on a move to the Irons as soon as possible, with his £75,000-per-week wages within budget at the London Stadium.
Nelson, 24, reportedly wants to leave the Emirates to prevent his career from stalling, thinking that at his age he should be playing more regularly and believing he can achieve this with the Hammers.
Crystal Palace are also keen on the winger following the sale of Michael Olise, but Nelson is hopeful a transfer to his preferred destination could be sealed before the Irons’ pre-season tour of the USA.

Furthermore, should either Bowen or Kudus depart, it’s likely Nelson would be given the first chance to stake his claim on the wing, with Kudus linked most recently with a switch to Saudi Arabia [TEAMtalk, 17 July].
Sealing a transfer in time for the Hammers’ pre-season tour in the US gives Nelson the chance to make an immediate impression, and as such he’ll be hoping a deal can be brokered as soon as possible.
