Doctor: Tottenham sensation adds to crisis with Grade 2 calf injury, set to be out until January. Tottenham winger Mikey Moore suffers Grade 2 calf tear – Doctor

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur…

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore is set to be out for the rest of the year with a Grade 2 or Grade 3 calf injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that even though he will not be fit at the start of January, it should affect any potential loan move away from the club.

The 16-year-old has played exceptionally well for the Under-18s this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in seven Under-18 Premier League South appearances.

#thfc Understand Mikey Moore has picked up a calf injury whilst on international duty which could see him out for up to six weeks.

Massive blow for the Academy with their FA Youth Cup 3rd round tie to be played on 5 December.

Discussing the state of play with Moore exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “This sounds like a high Grade 2 or Grade 3 calf injury.

“The timeline is around six weeks so he won’t be back this year but it really depends on how he responds to rehab as calf injuries can be quite finicky, especially if they’re in certain parts of the calf.

“If Spurs were to loan him out in January, the other team would be fully aware of the situation so I wouldn’t expect anything to come up unless there’s something unknown going on.“

Moore and Spurs will be relieved as it will not impact any potential loan move in the January window.

Regardless of what the plan is, that’s always an option in the winter for youngsters on the cusp of breaking into the first team.

Things also change at the last second as it depends on which clubs are to show an interest closer to transfer deadline day.

Moore has added to the injury list at Spurs with James Maddison, Ivan Perisic and Rodrigo Bentancur among others out for the rest of the year as well.

In other Tottenham Hotspur news, a player is mooted to have suffered a setback in his rehabilitation and now may be out for longer than first expected.
