Dejan Kulusevski says he found something weird during Tottenham’s game vs Fulham last night

Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski admitted that he found it very strange how the side performed in the second half against Fulham.

Kulusevski was speaking about the game to The Standard and admitted that the second period was usually a strength of Ange Postecoglou’s side.

However, the Tottenham manager was displeased with the side’s retention of the ball late on and saw it necessary to criticise his squad.

Reflecting on that, Kulusevski said: “We felt it of course, when we were playing.

“Normally in the second half we play our best so it was a little bit strange but we have just got to come back stronger and keep the ball better.

“In attack, we lost too many easy balls, it can happen. We are humans so we have to come away from that and think of Friday.”

Of course, Kulusevski did have somewhat of a difficult night individually for Tottenham in respect of his decision making against Fulham.

The Swedish winger was playing admirably but often seemed to make the wrong choice in front of goal.

However, the 23-year-old certainly wouldn’t be deserving of any criticism given the somewhat understated role he’s played this year.

Kulusevski admitted that Tottenham did tail off against Fulham

Another player that has perhaps not been given all the credit he deserves thus far is Guglielmo Vicario.

The goalkeeper was crucial in ensuring that Tottenham weren’t punished for their lapses in concentration against Fulham.

And Ange Postecoglou did see fit to dish out some praise to his ‘outstanding’ goalkeeper.

What seems key for Spurs right now is that when one aspect of their teams is faltering, another part steps up.

It was the rear guard action of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven that took centre-stage at Luton after Yves Bissouma’s red card.

And last night it was Vicario’s turn to prove his worth.

Whilst Kulusevski is right to be slightly worried about Tottenham’s second half display against Fulham, Ange is unlikely to let this team slip.
