David Moyes’s ostracisation of two West Ham players is just plain weird

David Moyes has ostracised two West Ham players, and it’s just plain weird. Moyes has completely ostracised two West Ham United players in particular this season, and I find it very strange.

West Ham manager David Moyes has numerous players available to him who he barely uses, with two specific Hammers seemingly ignored for absolutely no apparent reason.

Moyes is actually feeling the heat right now at the London Stadium, with Jose Mourinho allegedly being lined up to replace the Scot this summer.

The 60-year-old just makes no sense at times. He has just sent a clear message to the owners about the lack of strength in depth that he has available to him, yet he flogs the same 13 players or so to death week in, week out.

David Moyes has ostracised two West Ham players

We’ve entered a crucial part of the season now and because the Scot hasn’t adequately rotated this season, it would be no surprise to see our players start picking up soft tissue injuries.

I hope I’m wrong but If I’m not, Moyes will only have himself to blame. There are two players in particular who the Hammers boss has completely ignored over the past few months.

And I think both of them could have done a job for us at certain times, if he trusted them…

One of the worst things about Moyes is his really poor man management skills.

He often sticks to the same group of players and those on the sidelines looking are then completely unmotivated.

They don’t feel part of the project, and when Moyes is then forced to use them, they come into the side and inevitably fail to impress.

This has happened over the past year of so with the likes of Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals, and history is repeating itself with two more West Ham players…

Danny Ings is one player who’s barely had a look-in under Moyes, and the 31-year-old recently admitted that he has found it hard to establish himself at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, another player who’s found it tough going under the Scot is Maxwel Cornet, despite his recent plea to the Hammers boss insisting that he can help the team.

This season, Ings has been given just 628 minutes of action in all competitions, while Cornet hs only 326 minutes to his name (Transfermarkt).

The thing that really baffles me is that both players have impressed to a degree when given a chance this season, notably during our away clash with Sheffield United back in January.

The 31-year-old striker put in a man of the match performance that day whilst the 27-year-old Ivorian scored our opening goal.

Since then though, both West Ham players have been completely ostracised by Moyes, aside from a brief cameo appearance from Ings against Burnley – when he saved us a point by the way!

With so many games coming thick and fast this month, I just find Moyes’s treatment of the duo very weird indeed. He clearly just doesn’t trust anyone outside of 13 or 14 players, but that’s on him.

Moyes built this squad, and he just hasn’t done a good enough job of it in my view.
