West Ham are nowhere near thinking about alternatives amid David Moyes sack speculation, according to Michael Bridge.
The Sky Sports journalist told Give Me Sport [22 March] that Moyes may actually get to a stage where he feels he’s had enough of the job at the London Stadium.
Tim Steidten is a fan of Oliver Glasner and he was considered, but recently took over at Crystal Palace.
“Tim Steidten, from my understanding a while ago, actually likes Oliver Glasner and he was mentioned with a couple of other options.
“But, from my information, I don’t think they are anywhere near thinking about alternatives at the moment. Moyes has got a good relationship with the board, but he might actually get to a stage where he thinks he has had enough.
“There have been so many ups and downs this season. There are the high points, like winning away at Arsenal, but then they lost heavily to Arsenal at home.
“West Ham are still in Europe, and Moyes’ record in those competitions has been immense.”
Moyes and West Ham should part ways in the summer
As the end of Moyes’ contract with the Irons approaches, it appears increasingly plausible for both parties to part ways in the summer.
Despite Moyes’ previous successes, including leading the team to Europa Conference League glory, concerns have arisen over the team’s lack of a distinct playing identity under his management.
While some of the players have performed admirably, there’s a growing perception that a certain group of them are carrying the team rather than being tactically guided by Moyes.
This lack of a clear direction is troubling for the club’s long-term prospects.
Additionally, reports suggest that Steidten may already be considering alternatives, indicating a potential shift in the club’s leadership.
Ultimately, a mutual separation could allow West Ham to seek a manager who can provide a fresh perspective and implement a coherent playing style, aligning more closely with the ambitions of the club and their supporters.
