David Moyes accused of being disrespectful as West Ham vs Backa Topola Europa League clash takes new spicy twist
West Ham take on Backa Topola in the Europa League tonight and David Moyes has seemingly added some spice to the occasion.
Serbia outlet Republika have accused West Ham manager David Moyes of being disrespectful ahead of tonight’s Europa League game at the London Stadium.
The Hammers boss will be desperate for his team to kick off their Europa League campaign with a win tonight, and so will the fans.
On paper, Backa Topola seem to be the weakest side that we will face in Group A. However, we cannot afford to be complacent – they are top of their domestic league after all.
In spite of that, it seems as though the Serbian media are already accusing Moyes of being patronising towards tonight’s opposition…

Republika reckon that it was disrespectful from Moyes to suggest that it was difficult to evaluate tonight’s opponents due to it being harder to get information about teams from Serbia.
And as a result, the Backa Topola players allegedly will be even more determined to put on a show and prove themselves against the Hammers.
I have to say, I don’t think Moyes meant any disrespect whatsoever with his comments during the press conference yesterday.
I feel like the Serbian media are just trying to stoke up a fire that simply won’t ignite in order to put West Ham under a bit of pressure ahead of tonight’s Europa League game. Moyes never talks down about his opponents in press conferences – if anything he talks them up too much for my liking.
There is absolutely no way that the West Ham manager will be complacent ahead of tonight’s Europa League game. Maybe he just meant that games in Serbia are not as easily accessible as other leagues.
And now I feel like the Hammers boss and his players will want to beat Backa Topola even more after the attack from the Serbian media! This may have backfired lads!
