Danny Murphy shares what definitely won’t happen in Chelsea v West Ham live on air

Danny Murphy shares what won’t happen in West Ham United clash v Chelsea. Danny Murphy does not believe West Ham and Chelsea will be goalless when the two sides meet on Saturday (21 September).

Julen Lopetegui’s men head into the clash off the back of a 1-1 draw with Fulham while the Blues were lucky to steal all three points from Bournemouth in the last round of Premier League fixtures. History would suggest the London Stadium will witness several goals, with the last 0-0 draw coming in September 2018, 12 meetings ago, and Murphy concurs.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Thursday (19 September, 6:39pm), he said: “If you’ve got Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen, it looks good. One thing about this game, as Chelsea have shown snippets of brilliance, is that it won’t be 0-0.” Andy Goldstein replied: “Yeah, it’ll be goals galore. How do you see this one going?,” to which Murphy said: “I’m going to go 3-2 Chelsea.”

Surprised, Goldstein said: “Are you? A five-goal thriller? That would be good.” West Ham United to taste defeat against Chelsea?

If Enzo Maresca’s men play like they did against the Cherries, Lopetegui’s side have every chance of taking all three points at the London Stadium.

Chelsea needed a crucial penalty save from Roberto Sanchez and a last-gasp winner from Christopher Nkunku to win 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium, though Danny Ings was needed to win a point at Craven Cottage. Both sides are still learning how to play under new management, but the Hammers will be keen to get their revenge after the Blues’ 5-0 win last time out at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui

With the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus all available, not forgetting to mention striker Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville and Tomas Soucek, the game promises goals.

A win would certainly be helpful for the Hammers, who are currently just three points above the dreaded relegation zone, though few will worry about that after four games of the campaign so far.

In other West Ham news, Julen Lopetegui must keep the faith in an out-of-form star, Chelsea cannot handle him.
