Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner makes ‘outstanding’ claim amid ‘difficult’ Liverpool admission

Liverpool was beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace at Anfield. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was delighted to get the three points via an early Eberechi Eze goal.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was delighted with his side’s victory over Liverpool at Anfield. And the German is under no illusions about how difficult it is to win against the Reds on home turf.

Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the game as Crystal Palace picked up just its second victory under the German’s guidance after he took over in February. And once again, Liverpool missed a hatful of chances including big ones from Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones in the second half in front of The Kop.

“It’s an outstanding win at Anfield,” Glasner told the BBC. “It’s so difficult to win here. How they played, especially in the first half, is so nice to see. In the second half, there was a lot of pressure from Liverpool. Congratulations to the team on this performance today.

Andy Dunn reviews Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at home against Crystal Palace

“Tomorrow we can say we did it our way. You can always lose here, but it’s about being able to express yourself and play with confidence. We cleared many situations under pressure with one or two touches. We scored an amazing goal. It’s about confidence, team spirit, passion.

“Next week we face West Ham and we need the same spirit and the same power. I think today will give us confidence, but we need to stay humble. We will have an intense training week again. We will analyze well but it is always to do your job at your best level because we are playing against the best teams. Again, a great win for Crystal Palace and the team.”
