Carlos Soler joined West Ham on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day, and Julen Lopetegui has eased him into action slowly. Ex-Hammer Pablo Fornals played a key role in Soler moving to West Ham, after selling the transfer to his fellow countryman.
I personally think Soler will be a big hit at the London Stadium, but it will definitely take him time to adapt to the intense nature of Premier League football. In order for the Spaniard to succeed at West Ham, he will need continued support from the fans.
And it seems like he’s getting that in spades.

The Spaniard made his first start for the Hammers against Liverpool on Wednesday night up at Anfield.
He didn’t play too badly, but obviously wasn’t at his absolute best – just like most of the players who started for us. We lost 5-1, but the travelling Hammers faithful supported the team throughout the game, despite a fair few of them making their way towards the exit doors with 10 minutes still to play.
And Soler used one superlative to describe the claret and blue army, as quoted by WHUFC.com.
“For me, the West Ham fans were incredible here at Anfield,” he observed. “I think just below 6,000 people came here tonight to support us, and after the match they showed respect for us because they know that we have done a good job. It’s difficult to say that with a 5-1 defeat, but we are going to give our all to them.”
‘Incredible’ certainly is a word that I would use to describe the travelling Hammers fans.
West Ham fans have followed our club up and down the country over the years, despite little success to celebrate.
We’ve won just one trophy over the last 44 years, yet we sell out every single ground we go to.
Carlos Soler clearly really appreciates the West Ham United fans.
The travelling claret and blue army will be at Brentford in their thousands today. Let’s hope they are rewarded for spending their hard earned money following the team with a victory.
