Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah is someone who West Ham have chased for quite some time now, most recently back in the summer.
It’s no surprise that the Hammers are back in for the 24-year-old Blues ace, with David Moyes on the hunt for more defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.
However, we won’t have things all our own way in the race to sign Chalobah.
Football Insider claim that West Ham are set for a late January battle with Nottingham Forest for the Chelsea ace, with Mauricio Pochettino now prepared to let him leave on loan.
It’s good for us that he’s now apparently available on loan because a recent report suggested that Chelsea could demand as much as £40 million for him back in the summer (The Daily Express).

I think that the versatile Chelsea star would be tremendous addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.
Described as an ‘incredible’ defender by Football.London, Chalobah is exactly the kind of signing Moyes should be looking to make.
He’s quick along the ground, strong in the air and vitally for David Moyes, he has experience of playing Premier League football! In 25 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season, the centre-back averaged 1.2 tackles, one interception and 2.2 clearances per game (Who Scored).
Chalobah can play in the defensive midfield role, as well as his main position at centre-back.
The Chelsea man possesses impressive pace, is strong in the air as is a very competent tackler.
My only concern about him is his injury problems – he has been out all season long with thigh issues.
However, if West Ham sign Trevoh Chalobah on loan, the risk would be minimal for us. Hopefully Moyes manages to get it done.
