A big Jack Clarke twist has emerged, as a report makes new Tottenham claim after West Ham United line up £20 million move.
West Ham are chasing the signing of ex Tottenham winger Jack Clarke in the January transfer window, and Sunderland are apparently asking for £20 million for the 23-year-old.
Hammers boss David Moyes is desperate to bring in some attacking reinforcements with his current starting front three all unavailable for selection.
Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta are injured, whilst Mohammed Kudus is away at AFCON with Ghana, and none of them will be back until next month.
Meanwhile, Michail Antonio is out injured as well, so Moyes definitely needs to make some attacking signings, and fast. Another problem he has is fulfilling the homegrown quota, having sold Conor Coventry and with the likes of Danny Ings, Ben Johnson and Aaron Cresswell being linked with January exits.
So signing Clarke would certainly make sense for West Ham, and Tottenham will be hoping that West Ham bring the Sunderland winger back to the Premier League this winter…

According to a report from the Mirror, Spurs included a 25% sell-on clause when Clarke left to join Sunderland in 2022.
It is suggested that the Hammers are weighing up a £20 million bid for the 23-year-old, and if that deal goes through, Tottenham will be in for a £5 million windfall.
Clarke has been in superb form Sunderland this season, bagging 13 goals and two assists in just 27 Championship games (Transfermarkt).
He scored an absolutely brilliant goal for the Black Cats away at Ipswich Town last night, highlighting his exceptional talent in the process.
The winger clearly has the ability to score and create goals, possesses exceptional technical ability and is really direct when he has the ball at his feet.
His performance for Newcastle in the FA Cup last weekend was really poor but maybe it was just a one off, rather than evidence that he’s not good enough for the Premier League.
If West Ham sign Jack Clarke for £20 million, it will be a slight risk but an exciting one nonetheless. The fact that Tottenham will receive a bundle of cash from the deal, if it happens, puts a bit of a dampener on it though!
