The Lilywhites snapped his signature from Leeds United in a deal worth £40 million following his impressive performances in the Championship last season. The teenager looked completely comfortable at Elland Road despite being thrown into the deep end by Danie Farke. He showcased his versatile ability, complemented by his technical proficiency.
Archie Gary, originally a midfielder, played in the right-back role at Hotspur Way last year, which further added to the hype around his attributes.
Undeterred by the millions
Multiple Premier League elites expressed interest in landing the 18-year-old this summer, and the North Londoners had to pay a mammoth sum of £40 million, which is generally unheard of for a teenager in the second tier of English football. The significant fee reflects the potential he possesses, and Ben Jacobs believes that Tottenham got a good deal despite the fees involved.
