‘I was told’: Journalist claims he’s heard exactly where David Moyes wants to play Mohammed Kudus for West Ham
Football journalist Dean Jones has shared what he has been told within West Ham United about Mohammed Kudus.
Mohammed Kudus joined West Ham from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer transfer window for around £38 million.
The 23-year-old has already really impressed at the London Stadium, despite the fact that Hammers boss David Moyes has eased him into action very slowly.
Kudus’s explosive pace, outstanding technical ability and decisiveness inside the final third will make a huge difference for us going forward.
And it seems that Moyes has one specific role earmarked for the Ghana international moving forward…

Dean Jones has been speaking to GiveMeSport about the 23-year-old Hammers attacker.
And the journalist shared what he’s been told about where Moyes envisages playing the former Ajax ace for West Ham:
“I think it makes most sense that he goes in to alternate the forward role for a little bit. Before he came in, I was told that’s a role they had earmarked for him. It wouldn’t be just that position that he would play, but the two things I was told were to look out for him as a striker rotator and also don’t expect him to come in all guns blazing.”
Now, Kudus has operated as a false nine before for Ajax. Out of 87 appearances, 17 of them were as a centre-forward, 19 as a right winger, 20 as a central midfielder, 29 as an attacking midfielder and a couple out on the left wing (Transfermarkt).
So the Ghanaian is more than capable of playing through the middle.
I actually think Mohammed Kudus would be very useful if deployed as a number nine for West Ham although my only concern is that he might lose a lot of what makes him so dangerous if he is playing with his back to goal for large chunks of the game.
I’m just intrigued to see the best of the 23-year-old in a West Ham shirt, regardless of what position he plays in.
