Bayern Munich ‘willing to agree Harry Kane Tottenham clause’ within transfer agreement

Bayern Munich and Tottenham are set to hold fresh transfer talks regarding Harry Kane on Friday.

Bayern Munich would reportedly be prepared to consider including a buy-back clause in any deal to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham. The Bavarian giants are refusing to lie down in their quest for the England captain’s signature and there is now growing optimism an agreement can be struck between the clubs with Spurs under increasing pressure to sell. Despite offering Kane a new lucrative contract, Tottenham are yet to receive any assurances their talismanic front man is prepared to extend his stay in north London.

For that reason, the Spurs hierarchy are mindful they must consider a sale this summer to avoid losing the player on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe are expected in London on Friday for face-to-face talks with Daniel Levy as they seek to get the deal over the line.

According to The Telegraph, there are suggestions that Bayern would be willing to include a buy-back clause to provide Spurs with the chance to re-sign Kane further down the line if they reluctantly agree to a sale.

Kane still has his sights firmly set on Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record but for now, his focus is on winning trophies.

He turns 30 on Friday and knows time is running out to add medals to his otherwise empty trophy cabinet that is solely filled with individual prizes at this moment in time.

Tottenham are hopeful Kane is prepared to give Ange Postecoglou the chance to prove his worth following positive early discussions but for now, there are no guarantees.

Bayern have already held one meeting with Levy in London amid fears honorary president Uli Hoeness had scuppered the move by publicly declaring Kane had given the German club his word. Hoeness said earlier this month: “He signalled very clearly that his decision was made. And if it stays that way, we’ll get him.”

Before adding: “Levy is clever. First we have to get him to name a price. He plays for time and is a great professional. I appreciate him very much. But on the other side there aren’t any people who have been doing this since yesterday.”

“He wants to play internationally. Tottenham won’t be there next season – unlike our club. He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe.”

“What we really like about Kane is that his advisors, that is his father and his brother, are very pleasant. So far they have always stood by what they have promised. And if it stays that way, then that’s okay.”

Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in a deal but they have been informed that Kane does not want to join the Ligue 1 champions.

PSG are looking for replacements for Kylian Mbappe having already offloaded Lionel Messi from the wage bill but despite their financial muscle, their chances of signing the forward are rated as slim.

Manchester United remain keen on landing Kane but Levy is simply not prepared to do business with fellow Premier League rivals.

Add to that, United are now pushing to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta as they do not have the finances to fund a credible bid for Kane.
