‘Atrocious’ – talkSPORT broadcaster slams what West Ham figure did after Wed night development

West Ham: talkSPORT broadcaster slams David Moyes after ‘infuriating’ Crystal Palace development

Tom Rennie has slammed the tactics of West Ham boss David Moyes against Crystal Palace in wake of the Eagles’ “atrocious” display in their loss to Bournemouth.

United were booed at full-time after playing out an underwhelming 1-1 draw with Palace at London Stadium on Sunday (3 December).

Palace followed up that result with a 2-0 home defeat against Bournemouth on Wednesday (6 December), which made West Ham’s performance against Roy Hodgson’s side all the more frustrating in the view of Rennie.

The talkSPORT broadcaster posted on his personal Twitter page [6 December]: “Crystal Palace are there for the taking. Atrocious.

“Makes Sunday against West Ham even more infuriating. Moyes played them like they were Liverpool. They’ve got nothing. Get after them.”

    Happy medium

A look at West Ham’s results this season, and more specifically over the past month, would have many from the outside wondering exactly why a large number of supporters are doubting Moyes.

Four wins and a draw from five matches is a superb return, but the football has been very bland in pretty much each of those games, with late Tomas Soucek goals in three of those victories papering over the cracks.

For many, the performance and result against Palace last weekend was enough, explaining the jeers.

With the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta to choose from, may believe this West Ham side should be far more free-flowing.

As Palace’s result against Bournemouth goes to show, the Eagles were there to be beaten. The Cherries went all out for the victory and got it at Selhurst Park.

For Moyes, it is a case of results over performance, and that led the club to Europa Conference League success just five months ago.

However, a happy medium does have to be found. There is a time and place to get at teams, with Palace at home a perfect example. Let’s just hope lessons have been learned.
