Aston Villa Agree Deal To Sell Midfielder

Luton Town have a deal in place with Aston Villa for the signature of Marvellous Nakamba on a permanent deal this summer, according to The Athletic.

The 29-year-old midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at Luton and played a key role in helping them to get promoted to the Premier League.

He made 17 Championship appearances for Luton while not getting any minutes at Villa in the first half of the campaign.

Luton have been clear about wanting to sign him on a permanent deal and the two clubs have been in talks over getting a deal over the line.

And it has been claimed that an agreement is now in place between Villa and Luton for the midfielder’s move to Kenilworth Road this summer.

The two clubs have thrashed out a deal and Nakamba is now on the verge of joining Luton on a permanent deal.

Aston Villa and Luton are sifting through the final details and the paperwork of their agreement for the transfer.

Luton Town FC denies construction delays as it postpones first match

Luton Town FC has said there are no delays to an urgent £10m programme of works to its stadium, despite postponing its first home match of the 2023/24 season.

The club’s Kenilworth Road stadium is “undergoing a programme of extensive ground improvements” this summer in order to be ready to host Premier League games, after winning promotion last season.

This includes constructing a new stand for the 10,000-capacity venue “to meet broadcast and media requirements”.

The club said that the work was “progressing extremely well and currently ahead of schedule”. Despite this, it has asked to postpone its match against Burnley FC, which was scheduled for 19 August.

Luton said that “due to the extent of the project”, the club “cannot absolutely guarantee supporters that any future unforeseen issues would not cause any delay” that would affect the schedule
