But, the Gunners were unable to secure a transfer move for him. As a result, he ended up staying in Portugal.
Why could Viktor Gyokeres not join Arsenal?

The Portuguese club wanted his €100 million release clause to be paid. Many Premier League clubs were already cutting back to avoid PSR issues. And, Sporting were not letting the striker go for a lower price. As a result, Arsenal chose not to move in for Viktor Gyokeres.
