Apprentice star Karren Brady broke her silence on becoming a nan at 54 on Loose Women on Wednesday, saying: ‘I’m so excited!’ 
Her TV appearance comes just days after daughter Sophia Peschisolido, 25, revealed she is five months pregnant with her first child, whom she shares with fiancé Frankie Makin.
The West Ham vice-chairman’s daughter told the Loose Women: ‘I’ll tell you what’s incredible: when your baby is having a baby. It’s just an incredible feeling.
‘Sophia is so kind spirited she’ll be a wonderful mother she’s so happy and so excited.’
But she has said she won’t be adopting the name ‘gran’ anytime soon.
Karren went on: ‘There’s going to be a big fight over who can babysit! She’s got a really great support network.
‘Grandmas should be and can be a very important influence as they’ve done everything in their life and they can give best advice.’
The panellists asked if she would prefer ‘nan’ or ‘grandma’, the baroness replied: ‘I’m not really fussed! Grandma seems a bit formal’
Sophia tuned into the show all the way from Dubai. She posted a clip of her mum speaking to her 347,000 followers on Instagram, with the caption: ‘crying love u mommy @karren_brady official’.
The influencer added: ‘Had to get the vpn for this’ with two teary laughing faces. VPNs allow you to watch blocked content from another country.
Sophia first announced her pregnancy in November with a sweet video posted to her Instagram page.
A few days later she revealed that she was five months along.
Karren shares Sophia with husband Paul Peschisolido, an ex-footballer. The couple also has a younger son named Paolo.
