‘Angry’ Sullivan demotes West Ham senior man who’s halfway to being sacked – report

West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten has been demoted by chairman David Sullivan, according to Soccer4U.

The outlet reported on 19 January that the German had been demoted and was halfway towards the sack at the London Stadium.

The report claims that Sullivan has assumed control of transfers after his anger with the disastrous rebuild that Steidten oversaw in the summer.

The Hammers spent approximately £120 million on new signings but the likes of Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville have failed to impress.

    West Ham should sack Steidten

The football executive came to East London with a stellar reputation from his work at Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

However, he has failed to make the required impact with the Irons, as the majority of his signings have flopped.

He has also had high-profile bust-ups with ex-managers David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui that resulted in his exile from the training ground.

The Irons are still struggling to find a new striker after Fullkrug was ruled out for three months and the chaos surrounding Steidten will not help that search progress.

It is best for both parties to part ways given the way that the former Wolfsburg man’s stint with the Londoners has gone.

His tenure with the Hammers has been nothing short of a failure and it is time for the club to move on from the German and allow Potter to bring in his own man to rebuild his squad.
