Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed the club are not finished in the summer transfer market just yet. Ange Posteocoglou has confirmed he is still open to the prospect of signing another central defender before the summer transfer window closes. The Aussie has made the admission in light of the arrival of Micky van de Ven, who joins the club from Wolfsburg in a deal worth £43million including add-ons. Yet Spurs could still make further adjustments to their backline as Postecoglou is mindful that several defenders could yet depart in the coming weeks.
Joe Rodon is set to join Leeds on loan while Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga remain in talks over possible exits.
Speaking after the 4-2 defeat to Barcelona in Catalonia on Tuesday night, Postecoglou refused to rule out further reinforcements at the back.
When quizzed if another centre-back was on the agenda, the ex-Celtic head coach replied: “Yeah potentially [signing another central defender]. “Again we’ve got to make sure that we keep the squad manageable and see what happens with outgoings, but yeah the potential is there to bring in one more.”
Tottenham have added a new target to their shortlist in the form of Torino’s Perr Schuurs.
Crystal Palace have also been looking at the Dutchman who moved to Torino from Ajax last summer.
Ajax would be entitled to 15 per cent of any fee Torino receive meaning the Italians are likely to drive a hard bargain.

Tottenham Hotspur are now reportedly the favourites to sign Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson this summer.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, with the outlet claiming that Brentford also remain interested in the Forest forward.
Spurs are facing a crucial week ahead as they bid to determine the future of their star man Harry Kane.
Indeed, The Evening Standard reports that Kane is likely to stay at Tottenham if a deal isn’t agreed with Bayern Munich before the Premier League season gets underway this weekend.
But Spurs are exploring their options in the event that Kane does depart for Germany and Brennan Johnson is a target for the club.
Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor claims that Johnson is a genuine target for Postecoglou. Now, it seems that Spurs are the favourites to land the Wales international this summer.
Johnson enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign in the Premier League last season as he helped keep Steve Cooper’s men in the division.
The 22-year-old netted eight times and provided three assists last time out as he featured in every single Premier League game for Forest.
He’s reportedly valued at around £50 million, with Brentford already having a £35 million bid knocked back by Forest.
Johnson has been labelled a ‘magnificent’ talent and would provide Postecoglou with a different type of option out wide.
