Ange Postecoglou could do what no manager has done in Liverpool vs Tottenham game

Tottenham will travel to Anfield this weekend with their backs against the wall after recent disappointments. Tottenham need a response at Anfield after recent setbacks but Liverpool need to send off legendary manager Jurgen Klopp with a massive performance in one of their last home games of the season.

The Reds have dropped off after disappointing results against Everton and West Ham. Their chances of winning the league title have evaporated in the last few weeks, but they will look for a strong end befitting a great goodbye to a manager who has brought more joy and good memories than any in recent times.

Klopp will be looking for a win that takes them past 700 league points during his time in charge of the club, but Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou could become the first manager to beat him in a Premier League game in May.

In the nine years Klopp has been at Liverpool, he’s played 13 home games in May, won nine and drawn four of them. In what is the German’s penultimate home game of the season, Postecoglou said the Liverpool boss deserved all the credit he gets.

He told reporters: “He’s had a massive impact. I’ve said before that I’ve always been drawn to managers who are a little bit different, who play the game a bit differently and have a really clear vision and identity, and he certainly has that.

“It’s not easy going into a big club that has traditionally had a lot of success and has then gone through a really tough spell in terms of that, and then come in and transform a club the way he did. It’s a credit to him, he’s an outstanding manager.

“I’m sure we’ll see him back managing at the top level again because he’s one of the top managers in the world. Credit to him that at such a big club he was able to imprint his style and vision and bring success.”

Tottenham have an increasingly worrying away record with just two wins in their last 11 attempts, so they’ll have to play above themselves to get the victory at Anfield.
