West Ham United transfer shock as Tim Steidten confirms player wants to leave. Jean-Clair Todibo’s agent has stated that the defender will already leave West Ham after arriving in the summer.
The Frenchman joined the Hammers on an initial season-long loan during the summer, with a £34million obligation-to-buy clause in the deal [BBC Sport], but his time in East London could already be cut short.
Juventus were one of the teams attempting to acquire the young centre-back’s signature in the last window, even making a late hijack attempt near the end of the window [Sebastien Vidal].
Speaking via Radio Goal, quoted by Tutto Napoli [2 January], Morabito said: “Todibo is sending messages to Juve, he regretted going to West Ham, but I think Giuntoli hardly goes for players who have said no to him.
“This morning I spoke with the West Ham director who told me that Todibo will leave, they spent 190 million euros there.”
Jean-Clair Tobido regretting West Ham United transfer?
Julen Lopetegui has been unable to get his side firing on all cylinders this season, with the Hammers just five points above the relegation zone after 19 matches of the league campaign.
The Spaniard has been under immense pressure to turn things around, with David Sullivan being urged to change managers already or even bring David Moyes back, with goals leaking in far too many games.
With Max Kilman, Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos the only centre-back options available, there has been a lot of rotation in the middle of defence, and the Frenchman is clearly unhappy with his situation.
He was even involved in an altercation with Lopetegui at half-time of the 5-2 loss to Arsenal in November [ExWHUEmployee], and he has not started for the Hammers since that moment.
It would be a great shame for such a talent to already be seeking a move away from the London Stadium, even before his permanent deal has been sealed, but it is no use keeping him around if he doesn’t want to be here.
In other West Ham news, David Sullivan could be tempted to cash in on a Hammers star if a £150million offer arrives.
