West Ham United: Romano reveals what he’s now been told about David Moyes contract
There are concrete discussions ongoing to extend the contract of David Moyes at West Ham, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported in his Daily Briefing on Sunday (4 February) that he’s been told there will be movement in the next few weeks to get the final details in place to keep the Hammers boss at the London Stadium.
He said discussions between the two parties are “advancing well” as the Irons are “happy” with the work the Scotsman has done at the club.
“There are concrete discussions ongoing to extend David Moyes’ contract at West Ham,” said Romano. “Moyes wants to stay, the discussions are advancing well and I’m told in the next weeks there will be movement in terms of final details to get it done. West Ham are happy with his work.”
Stability
This news will probably be met with a fairly mixed reaction from the West Ham fans as Moyes massively divides the opinion of the supporters, with the question being asked by many whether or not he should be allowed to continue.
While the football hasn’t been the best at times this season, the club is without a doubt in a more stable position than it has been for years and a lot of that is down to him.
The Hammers boss has achieved an awful lot of success over the past four years, qualifying for Europe in each of his three full seasons in charge and claiming the Europa Conference League success last year.
David Moyes divides the opinion of the West Ham fans.
It would be extremely harsh to not let him continue that work, particularly as we currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and are into the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
There is no doubt that we perhaps should be playing some more exciting football with the players at our disposal, but on the whole, you can’t argue with the results.
