Gary Neville has given his verdict on Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah’s goal in the first half against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Anfield.
The former Manchester United defender was hugely impressed by the goal that Salah scored, but he also criticised Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

It promised to be a hugely entertaining game between two sides aiming to win the title, and it did live up to expectations.
Mohamed Salah struggled to make an impact against Manchester United last weekend. One pundit said that it was one of the worst performances from the Egyptian forward.
Salah scored against West Ham United in the EFL Cup in midweek, and he found the back of the net against Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
It was a superb goal as well. It came in the 29th minute. The former Chelsea player got the better of Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and found the back of the net with an unstoppable strike.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports Premier League.
Neville was stunned by Salah’s strike and thought that it was “sensational” and “incredible”.
However, the Sky Sports pundit criticised Arsenal left-back Zinchenko for poor defending and thought that he made it easy for Salah to take the shot.
Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (5:59 pm, December 23, 2023): “Absolutely sensational from Mo Salah. I did mention about 10, 15 minutes ago that Zinchenko against Salah was a mismatch.
“I mean, it’s poor defending from Zinchenko not to deal with that low pass to start with, but then that is really weak.
“To allow him to come back, a world class player like Salah onto his left foot so easily, you are asking for trouble. And my God, did he give him trouble! What a finish! The power is incredible.”
While Zinchenko should have done better, I believe that Salah has to be given credit for the goal.
We know how lethal he is with his left foot, and once again the forward showed that against Arsenal. He is a world-class forward and one of the best and most important players for Liverpool.
