‘He’s back’… Jurgen Klopp confirms ‘insane’ Liverpool player is now fit to play against Arsenal

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Ryan Gravenberch has returned to training and is now fit to be included in the squad.

The Reds take on Premier League leaders Arsenal today in what will arguably be their toughest game of the season yet. They need to be at their best to win, and having Gravenberch back is a huge boost.

Jurgen Klopp confirms Ryan Gravenberch is fit for Liverpool vs Arsenal

Liverpool signed Ryan Gravenberch in the summer for around £34 million from Bayern Munich (BBC).

The Dutch international had a terrible spell in the Bundesliga. He barely played at Bayern and was desperate to leave the German champions as a result.

Liverpool were linked with a move to sign Gravenberch all summer, but it was only on deadline day that the Reds sealed the deal.

The 21-year-old has been really good under Jurgen Klopp. The German has raved about him on multiple occasions – he even branded his first touch as ‘insane‘ a couple of months ago (Liverpool’s official website).

Gravenberch had to be substituted against Manchester United last weekend and missed the win over West Ham United as a result.

He was viewed as a doubt for the game against Arsenal today, but Klopp confirmed yesterday that he is fit and ready to go. Diogo Jota and Alexis Mac Allister, however, have been ruled out.

Klopp said yesterday, as per Liverpool Echo: “He’s (Gravenberch) back. Macca and Diogo getting closer but not ready for tomorrow (today).”

Gravenberch is unlikely to start today

Arsenal haven’t been as fluid in attack as they were last season – they have scored five goals less than they did at the same stage last term. However, they are still a very dangerous side, and the fact that they are currently on top of the Premier League table proves that.

Liverpool need a natural defensive midfielder to start and Wataru Endo is expected to get the nod. Just in front of him will be Dominik Szoboszlai, who finally scored against West Ham this week.

The Man of the Match in the Carabao Cup clash was Curtis Jones. He arguably had his best game in a Liverpool shirt this week, and he completely deserves to keep his place in the side.

So, even though Gravenberch is fit, we think he will start the game against Arsenal on the bench today.
