Watford want to sign West Ham United striker Divin Mubama
West Ham United striker Divin Mubama is a target for Championship outfit Watford in the January transfer window, according to Claret & Hugh.
Writing on their website (8 November), the news outlet report that the young striker has emerged as a target for manager Valerien Ismael as he battles for his job at Vicarage Road, with goals an issue for his side.
Mubama recently turned down a new contract at West Ham and wants more first-team opportunities, and with his current deal set to expire in June 2024 an exit in January now looks likely.
“Watford are reportedly interested in signing West Ham striker Divin Mubama,” they wrote.
“While several clubs are rumoured to be eyeing the player, Watford seems to be the first to make a move.”

West Ham have been pushing for their striker options to be greatly improved in recent years and we though we had done it when Gianluca Scamacca signed.
That deal obviously went on a downwards spiral immediately and he’s now gone, so we’re back where we were but Mubama has come on leaps and bounds and made himself a real option.
However David Moyes has been reluctant to use him much and thus his development has begun to stagnate, which is obviously not what he wants or what we want.
A loan move in January could make sense if we can convince him to agree a new contract, and with David Moyes’ future at the club in the balance too it could be smart of Mubama to do that and get a new chance next season under potentially a new manager.
There’s still a way to go until the window opens, but it seems more and more likely that Mubama will be on his way and Watford are at the front of the queue to get a deal done.
