Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro has hailed Cristian Romero as the best in the world
The two defenders started for Ange Postecoglou‘s side against Fulham last night, and they had a solid game. Romero, in particular, was outstanding, and Porro seems really impressed with his teammate’s performance. Here’s what he said on Instagram.
Pedro Porro says Tottenham’s Cristian Romero is the best in the world
Tottenham have always had a fantastic attack; it was their defence that had been causing them problems over the last few seasons.
Daniel Levy‘s decision to bring in world-class defensive managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte did not work either, and it left Spurs in a terrible position.
Levy changed his approach in the summer and appointed Postecoglou. He has completely transformed Spurs, not just in attack but at the back as well.
Tottenham have conceded just eight goals in the Premier League this season in nine games. That’s the joint-best record in the division, and Cristian Romero has played a big part in helping them achieve that.
The 25-year-old Argentine World Cup winner has been fantastic this season. He has formed a tremendous partnership with the rapid Micky van de Ven and has made Spurs a very solid side.
Romero started for Tottenham against Fulham last night, and he was impressive again. He helped keep a clean sheet, and Pedro Porro seemed delighted with his display, so much so that he branded the Argentine as the best in the world on Instagram.
He wrote: “Best in the 🌍 mi cutiiiiii!!”

Spurs star Romero has become a different player
Tottenham star Cristian Romero has always been a brilliant defender, but he previously had no control.
The Argentine’s recklessness and lack of discipline have cost Spurs in the past, and many wondered if the North Londoners could ever rely on him due to his style of play.
However, Romero seems to have transformed into a better player now. He’s still very aggressive, but it is a lot more controlled now than it was before, making him a fantastic defender.
Tottenham take on Crystal Palace next in another London derby. If Romero has a good game, Spurs should back themselves to keep another clean sheet.
