Tottenham striker target has £17.4m release clause in January
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported that Tottenham Hotspur target Serhou Guirassy actually has a release clause of less than £17.4 million for the January transfer window.
Plettenberg has taken to X to suggest that Guirassy could leave for the incredibly low fee after what has been an incredible start to the campaign with Stuttgart.
Serhou Guirassy has been in sensational form following his permanent move from Rennes in the summer. The 27-year-old has scored 14 goals in just eight Bundesliga games. That is five more than Harry Kane has managed since his move to Bayern Munich.
Tottenham target Serhou Guirassy has £17.4 million release clause for January
That form has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League. Journalist Dean Jones told the Ranks FC podcast that Tottenham are monitoring Guirassy. Of course, Spurs did not sign an out and out striker after selling Kane in the summer.
And if Tottenham remain in title contention by the time January arrives, it would be no surprise to see Ange Postecoglou’s side target another goalscorer.
Plettenberg has issued a mixed update on Guirassy’s future, suggesting that he has a bargain release clause, but may not be planning to move in January…

Much can change by the time window opens
Guirassy may not currently be considering a move, but January is still a little while away. So some things could change by the time the window opens.
A move for Guirassy becomes much less of a gamble if he costs less than £17.5 million. Some are classing James Maddison as a bargain signing. So Tottenham fans would surely jump at the chance to sign a 14-goal striker for that sort of price. And he is likely to add to that tally by the time the window opens.
Certainly, with a release clause in play, Tottenham would be foolish to not ask the question when the January window opens and leave the ball in Guirassy’s court.
