Ange Postecoglou handed nightmare end to international break with Tottenham star limping after win

Tottenham’s captain looked to be in pain in South Korea’s game against Vietnam but lasted the duration.

Tottenham manager Ange postecoglou was handed a scare when capatin Son Heung-min limped out of the game against Vietnam on Tuesday afternoon.

The South Korean returned for second half as Jurgen Klinsman’s side thrashed their opponents 6-0 in one of the one sided displays dueing this window.

The 30-year-old has had a great start to the season domestically but there are concerns that he is not operating at 100% fiitness. He was left out the first international game of the break, when his country defeated Tunisia 4-0.

Against Liverpool, a week before the international break, he was replaced 20 minutes before the end. In his absence Spurs won the game with the last kick.

He admitted his absence for the game against Tunisia was to give him enough time to recover. He told reporters he was determined to play against Vietnam: “I discussed with the gaffer (Jürgen Klinsmann) and said I will play the game as I cannot forgive myself if I don’t play for the Korea national team in front of Korean fans when I already return to Korea.”

Tottenham have had a strong start to the season, their best start in almost the last 30 years, and will hope to continue that when they take on Fulham at home after the international break.
