Tottenham star confirms he has undergone operation on his knee

Tottenham star confirms he has undergone operation on his knee

Ivan Perisic has confirmed on social media that the operation on his ACL has been successful.

It emerged last Wednesday that Perisic had suffered a ‘complex ACL injury’ in his right knee, which would require surgery.

According to various reports, the experienced wide-man is expected to be out of action for a minimum of six months (Fabrizio Romano), which means that he might not play until late March or early April.

The news certainly comes as a blow for Tottenham as although Perisic had not started a Premier League game this season, he had proved a very useful impact substitute for Ange Postecogle

The Spurs head coach admitted last week that the development was extremely disappointing and added that he had been impressed with the Croat’s professionalism in the short time that they have had together (Football.London).

Step one complete: Ivan Perisic has his knee surgery

Perisic will be targeting a return to full fitness ahead of the European Championship next summer and his road to recovery has now seemingly begun after the 34-year-old confirmed on Instagram stories that his operation has been successful.

Given Perisic’s mindset and his professionalism, there is no doubt that he will do everything in his power to return to action as soon as possible. However, the chances of him kicking a ball again for Tottenham look quite slim at the moment.
