Patrick Vieira is keen on signing Tottenham defender this summer

According to the print edition of L’Equipe (04/08/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Strasbourg’s interest in Davinson Sanchez is being driven by the club’s head coach Patrick Vieira.

While it is clear that Sanchez is on his way out of Tottenham this summer, it remains to be seen where the centre-back will end up.

A whole host of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Colombian recently, with 90 min claiming last week that Strasbourg and Spartak Moscow had both been given permission to speak to the defender earlier in the summer while Galatasaray have recently opened talks with Spurs.

In addition, the outlet suggested that Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves had also made enquiries to Spurs about the 27-year-old.

Strasbourg remain keen on Spurs’ Davinson Sanchez

L’Equipe have now stated that Strasbourg have not given up hope of landing Sanchez, with Vieira continuing to push for the player.

It is explained that the former Crystal Palace boss wants to add an experienced centre-back to his backline, with the Tottenham star said to fit the bill.

The report alleges that the French side are open to making a move for Sanchez over the coming weeks. Tottenham would want to get a bidding war going to jack up Sanchez’s price but the defender himself will likely have a big say on where he ends up. At this point, it does not seem like there is a clear favourite for the centre-back’s signature.

Robbie Savage slammed his fellow pundit Chris Sutton for suggesting that Harry Kane would be willing to stay at Tottenham Hotspur because of Ange Postecoglou’s ‘brand of football’.

The former Premier League midfielder kept it blunt and told Sutton ‘what an idiot you are’ for thinking that Harry Kane would stay at Tottenham to ‘finish in the top half’, whilst playing this new attacking style, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

During these past few years, Spurs fans have been used to and frustrated with this so-called negative and defensive style of football that has been put on their table.

In typical Kane fashion, he has still worked his magic, winning the Golden Boot and being the top assister under Jose Mourinho, whilst he struck a stunning 30 goals under Antonio Conte last season.

But now, Bayern Munich are still trying to knock the door down and get the 30-year-old on board, but so far, the response has been no from those running the ship at Tottenham, according to Sky Sports.

As of this moment, nothing has come out from the Kane camp and when it was put to Robbie Savage that he should address the situation, he disagreed.
