West Ham midfielder ready to quit as he’s benched by Potter today, exit ‘imminent’ – report

Guido Rodriguez ready to quit West Ham, shock exit ‘imminent’. Guido Rodriguez is seemingly out of favour at West Ham. The Argentina international moved to the London Stadium just last summer and has gone on to make just 21 appearances across all competitions.

Hammers boss Graham Potter has not named Rodriguez in his starting 11 since hooking him from the action in a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace back in January.

The 30-year-old remained an unused substitute as West Ham were held to a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Rodriguez wants to leave the London Stadium amid transfer interest. The midfielder notched two goals and one assist for former club Real Betis last season, but he is yet to make a goal contribution for the Hammers.

Meanwhile, according to Mexican outlet Diario AS, Rodriguez has already decided he wants to leave West Ham, and his entourage are already seeking a new destination.

As per the Diario report, Mexican giants Club America, River Plate, Real Betis, and Sevilla are all closely monitoring his situation.

Club America, River Plate, and Betis could hold the upper hand over Sevilla in negotiations, having formerly employed Rodriguez.

Potter and West Ham are set for a busy summer transfer window. West Ham were already set for a busy transfer window before the news that Rodriguez is keen to quit the London Stadium emerged.

Potter will be keen to build his own Hammers squad this summer, having inherited a squad compiled by former managers Julen Lopetegui and David Moyes.

The only Hammers addition Potter has made so far was that of Evan Ferguson, who joined on loan from Brighton in the winter transfer window.

But since moving to the London Stadium, Ferguson is still yet to score, while West Ham are keen to bring a new striker to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

With that in mind, the Hammers have already set their sights on Lille forward Jonathan David on a free transfer but face prestigious competition for his services from the likes of Barcelona. Meanwhile, West Ham are also keen on a move for ex-Chelsea hotshot Tammy Abraham.
