‘Angrily punched the tunnel’: Sky Sports journalist says one Tottenham star was absolutely fuming after Chelsea loss

Tottenham Hotspur’s season is going from bad to worse after falling to their 16th defeat in the Premier League this term.

Tottenham were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, with Enzo Fernandez’s goal in the 50th minute proving Both teams also had a goal each disallowed, but the Blues held on in the end in a game that could have easily been a goal-fest on another day.

In addition, the game saw a number of incidents that seem to suggest the relationship between Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham fans is deteriorating.

Postecoglou appeared to put his hands to his ears in a cupping gesture towards the Tottenham fans after Pape Matar Sarr’s disallowed goal.

This came after the Spurs supporters questioned the manager’s decision to bring him on.

There was frustration in the Tottenham camp after the game, with Guglielmo Vicario seemingly letting said frustrations get the better of him.

Guglielmo Vicario spotted angrily punching Stamford Bridge tunnel

According to Sky Sports journalist Peter Smith, reporting live from Stamford Bridge, Vicario angrily punched the Stamford Bridge tunnel as he went back in.

The reporter also noted how Tottenham fans were giving “plenty of stick” to the Spurs players who went over to applaud them for their support.

Smith said on Sky Sports: “Vicario has just angrily punched the tunnel as he made his way off the pitch.

“Lots of frustration in the Tottenham camp, with the fans giving plenty of stick to the players who did go over to applaud them.

“Ange Postecoglou watched on from a distance after the stick he got in the game.”

How Guglielmo Vicario fared for Tottenham against Chelsea

Vicario was actually one of Spurs’ better players on the night, overcoming a shaky start to deliver a solid display.

Indeed, Vicario’s efforts helped Tottenham avoid a much bigger defeat as he pulled off a number of great saves.

Just before the break, Jadon Sancho had a go with an effort that deflected off Djed Spence, but Vicario showed great reflexes to push the ball over the top.

Vicario also kept out great efforts from Cole Palmer and Fernandez, making a total of four saves in the game and punching the ball away twice.

A number of Chelsea fans even admitted that Vicario played well on the night.

It’s no secret that Vicario is a passionate and intense player, so it is no surprise that the current state of affairs at Tottenham is impacting on him.
