Fulham and West Ham are said to be interested in a Serie A striker with plenty of Premier League experience. Both London clubs are said to be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, with the Hammers having only temporarily bridged the gap they have at the top end of the pitch.
Graham Potter signed Even Ferguson on loan in the January transfer window, but they appear unlikely to get him on a permanent deal, with Brighton not seemingly willing to give up on the Irishman.
Meanwhile, Fulham face a decision over striker Raul Jimenez, who is now 33 years of age and in the last year of his contract, though the Cottagers do have the option to extend the deal by a further year. Whichever way they decide, Fulham are likely to need another frontman this summer, with depth required at the top end of the pitch.
With that in mind, it’s reported that both Fulham and West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer. Abraham is currently on loan with Milan, but they are unlikely to do a permanent deal due to signing Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord during the winter window.
The 27-year-old has scored eight goals in 20 league appearances for Milan, and that follows 26 goals in 84 league appearances for Roma following his move from Chelsea in 2021. The Boot Room claim Fulham and West Ham are among a number of clubs interested in a move for Abraham this summer, but the striker is under contract with Roma until 2027.
The Italian club paid £34million for Abraham in 2021, and it’s unclear how much they would demand to sell, although the fee could be influenced by the fact Roma have loaned him out this season. West Ham have shown previous interest, according to the report, but Abraham ended any chance of a move by joining Milan.
Paolo Di Canio told Sky Sports Italia back in September: “Abraham has a positive aggressive attitude, and he’s always been like that. Then he had the injury… The goal that comes after his shot hitting the post, he gets back in the game, shoots again, and hits the target before Pulisic scores. Performance goes hand in hand with attitude and the mindset also shown in his Statements.”
