‘Another level’ Potter says West Ham duo impress him in training and confirms £117m boost

Graham Potter says West Ham duo impress him in training and confirms £117m boost. Two West Ham players have really impressed Graham Potter in training as the manager confirms a major £117m boost.

Graham Potter has been hit by some rotten luck with injuries since taking over West Ham last month. Just before Potter took over, the Hammers lost Jean-Clair Todibo and Jarrod Bowen following the crash which saw Michail Antonio break his leg.

Then in the new manager’s first game in charge, just 24 hours into the job, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville both went off with serious injuries which will keep them out for most of what remains of the season.

Potter’s options have been bolstered by the signing of striker Evan Ferguson on deadline day.

He also has another midfielder to choose from now after James Ward-Prowse returned from a disastrous loan spell at Forest. But things are also looking up on the injury front too.

Potter says two West Ham players have impressed him in training and confirms a major £117m boost. Potter confirms £117m boost for West Ham. West Ham welcome Brentford to the London Stadium in the Premier League after nearly two weeks without a game.

Potter has only won once in his first five games. Yet Hammers fans are really enthused by what they have seen already from the manager and his side.

Especially given the tough injury situation.

West Ham have slipped down to 16th as a result of Everton’s draw with Liverpool.

But victory could lift the Hammers up to 13th and just one point off 11th placed Brentford. A top half finish will be the aim for Potter and his side in what remains of the campaign.

Especially as it will help the club lure players when going into an extremely important rebuild in the summer window.

Now Potter has been given a real boost in his hopes of a second victory at the Hammers helm and for the future. The Hammers boss has confirmed a trio of stars worth £117m will return to the squad after injury.

West Ham’s £32m centre-back Todibo is back after six weeks out. Edson Alvarez – who at £34m is the most expensive Mexican player of all-time – returns having pulled out of the defeat at Chelsea late in the day.

And West Ham’s £51m record signing Lucas Paqueta – who has looked back to his best under Potter – is also back after limping off at Aston Villa and missing Chelsea. West Ham duo impress Potter in training, That’s £117m of talent Potter suddenly has at his disposal.

But it is two players who have recently come into the West Ham fold who have given the manager a big boost.

Because Potter has made it clear Ferguson and the returning Ward-Prowse have stood out at Rush Green ahead of Brentford.

The Hammers boss says Ferguson will change the dynamic of West Ham’s attack.

“He’s trained well since he’s come in, and he’s certainly showed his quality,” Potter said of striker signing Ferguson in his pre-match press conference.

“He’s been great, and I think he’s only going to get stronger and better during the time he’s here with us. .“He’s ready to help the team, and we’ll make the decision about his involvement as we get closer to the game.

“Evan will bring his own quality and another level of play – he’s a good finisher and he can link the play well.” Ward-Prowse has also caught Potter’s eye in training after he was shipped out by his predecessor Julen Lopetegui.

“He’s a really high level, experienced player who knows the Premier League and understands what you need to do every day to be a top player, so that’s really helpful for us and we’ve all been really impressed with him so far,” Potter said on Ward-Prowse.
