Don’t be fooled by facade, Potter reportedly has something seismic planned for the summer

Don’t be fooled by facade, Graham Potter has seismic plans for West Ham in the summer. Graham Potter has grand plans for West Ham United it seems.

West Ham decided to appoint Graham Potter as the new manager, after Julen Lopetegui was moved on from the London Stadium just over one month ago.

Potter brought Evan Ferguson to West Ham on loan in the January window, whilst James Ward-Prowse returned to the club after his failed loan stint with Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers head coach is said to be lining up an ambitious move to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace in the summer. Meanwhile, Lucas Paqueta is being heavily linked with the exit door.

As things stand, we don’t actually know who will leave and who will join us. However, one thing is for sure, and that’s the fact there there will be a huge turnaround of players in the summer transfer window.

David Sullivan seems to be set to dig deep and make things happen in the summer transfer market for Potter.

Graham Potter has seismic plans for West Ham in the summer

Potter will undoubtedly try to put his own stamp on the Hammers squad over the next few transfer windows.

In all fairness to him, we won’t be able to judge him fairly until he has a squad consisting entirely of his own players. And it seems like a really active summer transfer window awaits West Ham.

Don’t believe Potter’s facade in press conferences. As much as he keeps saying he’s happy with his current options, he clearly thinks differently behind the scenes. According to Inside Futbol, it will be all change at the London Stadium from the summer onwards.

“The Hammers are tipped to be much busier in the summer window when Graham Potter will seek to put his stamp on the squad. “There could be significant squad churn.“

So David Sullivan seems to be ready to get the chequebook out and back Potter to the hilt. Expect some big and exciting new signings at the London Stadium this summer.

What signings does Graham Potter need to make for West Ham

I think it’s clear to see the Hammers need an absolute bare minimum of five new signings in the summer. We need a new goalkeeper, two centre-backs, a powerful box-to-box central midfielder and one striker (two including Evan Ferguson).

If I’m being honest, I actually think we need another left winger and probably one more goalkeeper as well. In addition to all of the expected incomings, numerous players will leave the London Stadium this summer.

I expect Andy Irving, Danny Ings, Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Maxwel Cornet, Niclas Fullkrug,Guido Rodriguez and Luis Guilherme all to depart. Who knows, perhaps Mohammed Kudus will be on his way as well, if any clubs out there are prepared to meet his £85 million release clause.

We have already witnessed big improvements from the team since Graham Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.

The 49-year-old has overseen big changes in the way that we have played, and now the club are to undergo a truly seismic shift in the summer. The future at West Ham is very bright under Potter, I’m convinced of it.
