West Ham are in talks with talks for OH Leuven midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi, it’s been advised by ExWHUEmployee.
As has been reported for a number of weeks by our club insider, the club had identified Banzuzi as a target this January, with Graham Potter understood to support the potential move for the attacking midfielder.
Banzuzi, who turns 20 next month, has played for the Netherlands at U17 to U21 level and is understood to have other clubs across Europe vying for his signature.
Our club insider Ex has now advised that talks between the player and the club, which is understood to have been lead by Karren Brady, have taken a step forward with confidence growing that a deal could be reached.
Following the arrival of Potter this month, including analyst Kyle Macaulay from Chelsea, the club have been working on strengthening the squad for the remainder of this so-far difficult season.
Should West Ham secure a deal for Banzuzi, he will officially be the first signing under the Potter era in east London.
Ex will keep fans up to date as the deal progresses.
